EDUCATIONAL AWARDS PROGRAM

OVERVIEW: The Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of Connecticut extends monetary grants, on a competitive basis, directly to students enrolled in a post high school accredited educational institution. The Committee on Educational Awards evaluates applications and makes recommendations, which require the concurrence of the Most Excellent Grand High Priest. The donations received for this purpose from Royal Arch Masons and Chapters limit the number of awards during the year.
ELIGIBILITY: At  least one of the following criteria is required:
        Active member in good standing in a Chapter of the Order of DeMolay
        Senior DeMolay.
        Active member in good standing in an Assembly of the International Order of Rainbow forGirls
        Majority Member of Rainbow
        Son, Grandson, Daughter, or Granddaughter of Connecticut Royal Arch Mason in good standing
AWARDS: A student enrolled in a four-year college or university may receive a maximum of $1600, but not more than $800 in one year. A student enrolled in a two-year institution may receive a maximum of $800, but not more than $400 in one year. A student in a two-year institution who transfers to an accredited four-year institution may be considered for the difference between the amount previously received and $1600. Four hundred dollars has been the amount for awards during recent years. Normally payment will be made by one check in late summer or early fall.

Application forms are available by contacting the Secretary of the local Chapter of Royal Arch Masons, the Grand Chapter Officers, and the Chairman of the Educational Awards Program. Letters of recommendation, preferably from Masons and transcript of grades are required. Application must be received by March 31 of each year. Previous recipients of the award must resubmit updated applications to be considered in subsequent years. Those selected will be notified after the Grand Convocation in June.
