Chattanooga Lodge No. 199's Autism Golf Tournament
Bear Trace Golf Course in Harrison Tennessee on Saturday August 23, 2008
Dear Friends & Brothers,
I am writing you about Chattanooga Lodge No. 199's Autism Golf Tournament. The out pouring of support last year from our Masonic Family was great. We had a very successful tournament because of you and your Lodge. I can't thank you enough for all that did. We need your help again with our 3nd annual Fairway Dreams Golf Tournament. The net proceeds for this tournament will go to the Orange Grove Center located in Chattanooga Tennessee. I know you get many requests for donations throughout the year so I would like to take the opportunity to share with you why this one is important to me and my family. My son Samuel was diagnosed with Autism at 2 years old, he is now 15 and is a great kid or as he reminds me now , a teenager.
Autism research receives only 5% of funds allotted for childhood diseases, yet it affects more than leukemia, pediatric diabetes and juvenile aids combined. One out of every 150 children born will be affected by Autism. Today that is one child every twenty minutes. Autism has now reached epidemic levels. These children have severely impaired social and developmental delays; they will most probably never be able to live a life without some degree of care.
My Lodge has committed to raising $25,000 to assist The Orange Grove Center in its Autism initiative. Orange Grove is in a unique position to establish an Autism Resource Center in Chattanooga. This will be a valuable resource to our community and surrounding areas and all of Tennessee. Currently there is no such facility in Tennessee. Orange Grove has been around for many years and has been a leader in the South East for Downs Syndrome and other Special need issues for children all the way through to their later years. It is a terrific facility that meets the needs of so many people.
About the tournament, we have several levels of sponsorship
Hole Sponsorship: $250.00
Cart Sponsorship: $75.00
Team: $380.00 or $95.00 player and includes lunch and green fees
If you can please support us again this year, and on behalf of the kids I can't thank you enough for what you did last year. Please mail any donations to
